The Government of India through the Companies Act, 2013, recognises the importance of the corporate world in making a positive societal change through CSR. It is generally understood as being the way through which a company achieves a balance of economic, environmental and social imperatives, while at the same time addressing the expectations of shareholders and stakeholders. At Tema, this attitude has been ingrained in our DNA since inception. By creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that celebrates and leverages the unique talents and perspectives of all employees. We recruit from diverse backgrounds, such as women and individuals from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Also ensure that all employees, regardless of their background, have equal access to opportunities for growth, advancement, and leadership positions within the company. Implementing fair and transparent promotion processes and providing training and development programs that support career progression.
For us, CSR is not only a business imperative but also about contributing and giving back to the community, which makes our existence as a business relevant through ways like:
Enhancing Women’s Agency: Addressing the necessity for immediate employability, the focus is on vocational training in CNC and welding. In 2018, Varsha Shimpi defied gender norms, becoming the first female labour contractor in heavy fabrication.
Elevating the Skill India Campaign: The goal is to uplift tribal youth by training 500 dropouts and unemployed individuals over three years, with 140 already skilled in industry-specific courses.
Hamari Pehchaan: The initiative “Hamari Pehchaan” in Talasari tehsil, Palghar, supported by UNDP-Talasari, aims to empower local artisans for societal integration.
Inspire and Motivate Tribal Youth: We bring forward the unheard positive and powerful stories of tribal people from local areas through videos to inspire and motivate the young tribal generations. These videos have surely made a positive impact in the lives of youth and more young people are coming forward to make a difference in their and their families and their social life
As an innovative engineering company committed to sustainability, we are dedicated to shaping a future where technology and environmental responsibility coexist harmoniously. At the core of our endeavors lies a steadfast commitment to developing cutting-edge solutions that not only meet the needs of today but also safeguard the well-being of generations to come.
TEMA India’s CSR vocational training program, as approved by the Board, aims to provide vocational training to students in machining, welding and related tasks for six months. Two instructors will be recruited for this purpose. Existing beneficiaries of vocational training will be conjoined with the new batch.
These initiatives are part of the company’s ongoing effort as a responsible corporate entity wedded to the welfare of its people and the community from which it draws its strength. On completion of training, students will be employed by direct absorption into the company or by indirect engagement (through manpower suppliers and other contractors). To facilitate enrolment, an announcement of this program will be published in local newspapers.
Team synergy, leadership guidance, and clear objectives foster manufacturing success.
